to David Batchelor Jewellery Designs where we specialise in
the manufacture of innovative fine & contemporary jewellery
to suit the individual, combining style & quality with
special attention to detail.
We
believe in establishing insight into a clients preferences
& combining their ideas with our own to create a piece
that signifies their individuality. Whether it be remodelling
existing jewellery or commissioning special pieces i.e. engagement
rings, every client can leave with a sense of satisfaction
knowing his/her vision will be achieved.
Materials
Used :
Gold, platinum, silver, stainless steel, certified diamonds,
emeralds, rubies, sapphires, tanzanite, amethyst & all
other semi – precious gems.

Internationally
recognised for our ethnic art jewellery, we use precious metals
in conjunction with organic materials such as :
elephant & giraffe hair, buffalo horn, hard woods, bone
& warthog tusks.
As
a member of the Jewellery Council of South Africa and in conjunction
with them, we promote a high standard of business ethics in
the jewellery industry.
We
are not established as online retailers & our website
is purely a portfolio of previous designs. We hope you enjoy

David
completed his Diploma in Jewellery Design in 1979, and thereafter
obtained a Journeyman’s qualification as a Goldsmith.
He opened his own business in Durban, South Africa in 1981 and
has been designing & producing pieces of jewellery since then.
His
interest in wildlife led him to Maun in Botswana where he lived
for 2 years, creating jewellery for the Safari Market.
He
returned to Durban in 1989 where he has been based ever since,
creating hand made diamond & gold jewellery for local
as well as for export clientele.
The
Workshop :
All jewellery
is hand made in the workshop by David & a team of skilled craftsman..
From
the alloying, extrusion and forming of materials into the
creative settings, each piece requires hours of labour &
receives meticulous attention under expert guidance.
